These terms apply to quotes, estimates and work carried out by MKT Electrical, a trading style of MKT Contractors Ltd (company number 14175612, registered office 13a Pelham Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 8AR).
Quotes & estimates
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date given unless stated otherwise. Prices are based on the information and access available at the time of quoting — if the scope of work changes once we're on site (for example, unforeseen wiring issues behind a wall), we'll discuss and agree any revised cost with you before proceeding.
An estimate is an approximate price and may be subject to change; a fixed quote is a firm price for the described scope of work.
Agreeing to work
Work is confirmed once you've accepted a quote in writing (including by email, text or WhatsApp) or asked us to proceed. This forms the basis of the agreement between you and MKT Contractors Ltd.
Access & site conditions
You're responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the property and work area, and for telling us about anything relevant to the job in advance — for example asbestos, structural concerns, or restricted access. Delays caused by lack of access, or site conditions not disclosed in advance, may affect timescales and cost.
Payment
Payment terms will be agreed on a job-by-job basis and confirmed with your quote — this may include a deposit for materials on larger jobs, staged payments for longer projects, or payment on completion for smaller work. Invoices are payable within the timeframe stated on the invoice unless otherwise agreed.
Changes to the work
If you ask for additional work or changes to the agreed scope once a job has started, we'll let you know if this affects the price or timescale before carrying it out, wherever practical to do so.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule a booked job, please give us as much notice as possible. Materials already ordered specifically for your job, or work already carried out, may be chargeable.
Workmanship & guarantees
All work is carried out in accordance with the relevant edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) in force at the time. We stand behind our workmanship — if something we've installed develops a fault due to how it was fitted, get in touch and we'll put it right. This doesn't affect your other legal rights.
Manufacturer warranties on materials and equipment are provided by the manufacturer, not by MKT Contractors Ltd, and are separate from any workmanship guarantee we provide.
Notifiable work
Certain electrical work is notifiable under Building Regulations (Part P in England). Where applicable, we'll advise you what's required for your job and how it will be certified.
Liability & insurance
MKT Contractors Ltd carries appropriate insurance for the work we undertake. Our liability for loss or damage is limited to what's reasonable and foreseeable in connection with the work carried out, and nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If you're unhappy with any aspect of work carried out, please contact us directly at info@mktelectrical.co.uk or 0115 686 0693 so we can put things right. We aim to respond to any concern promptly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
